The meek
Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.
Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you. (Matt 5:3-12)

Judges 7:2 The LORD said to Gideon,
The LORD said to Gideon, "You have too many men for me to deliver Midian into their hands. In order that Israel many not boast against me that her own strength has saved her,

The exhortation of the LORD
Joshua 1:6-9
"Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their forefathers to give them.
Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go.
Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD you God will be with you wherever you go"

thank you God, my Lord. you are my hope, my healer, protector, redeemer, you are the only one who loves me with life. you are not a man who speaks and not act for that. God. I believe that you will lead me, and fulfill your will through our life.
Heavenly Father,
Please, teach me, help me to focus on you. I am not wise, smart, and power, but I rely on you who are perfect, the mighty God.
Please, be with me and lead me at the every moment.

1 Corinthians 13
If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.
If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.
If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there is tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.
For we know in part and we prophesy in part,
but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears.
When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me.
Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror, then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
And now these three remains: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

"This world" literally "this age," is the sin-dominated, death-producing realm in which all peopl, included in Adam's fall, naturally belong.
But it is "to deliever us from the presen evil age" that Christ gave himself (Gal. 1:4); and those who belong to Christ have been transferred from the old realm of sin and death ino the new realm of righteousness and life....
Pauls' command that we "not conform to this wolrd," then, builds on the theology of Rom. 5-8 (and of Rom. 6 especially) and calls on us to resist the pressure to "be squeezed into the mold" of this world and the "pattern" of behavior that typifies it (see 1 Cor. 7:31).
756
whereas the verb translated "be transformed" refers to an inward and genuine resemblance.
The tense of the verb is agian present; and in this case the fact that the renewing of the mind is a continuing process justifies us in thinking that Paul uses this tense to stress the need for us to work constantly at our transformation.
"The renewing of your mind" is the means by which this transformation takes place. "Mind" translates a word that Paul uses especially to connote a person's "practical reason," or "moral consciousness." Christians are to adjust their way of thinking about everything in accordance with the "newness" of their life in the Spirit (cf 7:6). This "re-programming" of the mind
757
does not take place overnight but is a lifelong process by which our way of thinking is to resemble more and more the way God has resulted in God's giving them over to a "worthless" mind: one that is "unqualified" (adokimos) in assessing the truth about God and the world he has made. Now, Paul asserts, the purpose of our being transformed by the renewing of the mind is that this state might be reversed; that we migth be able to "approve" (dokimazo)the will of God. "Approving" the will of God his moral direction is clear from the way Paul describes it: this will is that which is "good," "acceptable [to God]," and "perfect."
Paul's confidence in the mind of the Christian is the result of his understanding of the work of the Spirit, who is actively workingn to effect the renewal in thinking that Paul here assumes (cf. Rom. 8-4-9)
He knows that the renewal of the mind is a process and that as long as we are in these
758
bodies we need some revealed, objective standards against which to measure our behavior. Hence Paul makes clear that Christians are not without "law," but are under "the law of Christ" (Gal. 6:2; 1Cor. 9:19). This "law" has its heart in Jesus' own teaching about the will of God, expanded and explicated by his appoined representative, the apostles. But Paul's vision, to which he calls us, is of Christians whose minds are so thoroughly renewed that we know fom within, almost instinctively, what we are to do to please God in any given situation. We need "law"; but it would be to betray Paul's call to us in these verses to substitue external commands for the continuing work of mind-renewal that is at the heart of God's New Covenant work.

advice for parents on how to deal with bullying
But detecting that a child is being bullied, and then knowing how to react, may not be so clear-cut.
Kids often are reluctant to tell their parents they're being bullied, making it difficult to know that they're having trouble with other kids at school or online.
One thing that's very clear, however, is that bullying is not a rare occurrence. About one in five kids reports being bullied at school in the past 12 months, and another 16 percent have been harassed online, according to a survey from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The CDC also found that 6 percent of children and teens didn't go to school at least once in the previous month because they were concerned for their safety.
Bullying "eats away at a young person's self-esteem," said Dan Rauzi, a national bullying expert and senior director of technology programs at the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. "It can cause them to not want to go to school or get on the bus, they may not want to go online and it affects learning in school."
Bullying also interferes with a child's social, emotional and academic development, according to the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Sometimes the harassment is so severe that bullying victims commit suicide, the academy reports.
So, what signs should a parent be watching for?
A child who's being bullied may be more anxious and fearful, perhaps wanting to avoid school and social settings, according to Victor Gardner, a child and adolescent psychologist with the Henry Ford Health System in Detroit.
Children may complain of headaches, stomachaches and nausea, he said. Or, they may develop low self-esteem and lack confidence. Grades may drop, too. If the bullying is occurring online, the child might stop participating in favorite online activities.
Some signs are more obvious, such as unexplained bruising, torn clothing, missing items -- such as books, electronics or jewelry -- and noticeable changes in eating habits. For instance, bullying experts say that kids might eat a great deal when coming home from school because they didn't eat lunch because of some type of bullying.
"If you notice behavioral changes -- a previously happy child now seems sullen, angry and upset -- ask what's going on," Rauzi said. "Don't take the standard 'Nothing' or 'I'm fine' response. One of the reasons that young people don't tell adults what's going on is that they don't think anything will happen."
Ideally, parents will have had discussions about bullying with their children before it occurs, Gardner said. "When children are going off to a new school or a sleep-away camp, or they're showing an increased interest in going online, be open and honest with them about the things that could happen," he said. "Tell them when it's appropriate to speak up and who to tell. If you have that talk, and review it when school starts, it helps to encourage the lines of communication."
Knowing what steps to take to stop a bully can be somewhat trickier. For starters, kids often don't want their parents to get involved at all.
In this case, Gardner said, let the child know that you're glad he or she told you what was going on and that you'd like to talk about what your child has done to try to reduce the bullying behavior. Help the child assess whether those steps are working, and let your child know that anytime it becomes overwhelming, you're willing to step in.
He suggests asking your child what he or she thinks the next steps should be if the bullying doesn't subside. Does your child want to talk to a counselor? Would he or she like to have both sets of parents and children meet with school officials?
Rauzi said it's also important to distinguish between bullying and youth conflict.
"You can engage in conflict with your peers, and that's not necessarily bullying," Rauzi said. "Bullying is not just a one-shot deal. Getting picked on repeatedly is bullying. If there's an imbalance of power, one kid is physically bigger or more socially connected or more tech savvy, that's bullying. But, it's important that parents know the difference and they shouldn't jump into every youth conflict situation," he noted.
"We can help them work through a conflict," he said, "but bullying needs adult intervention."
Rauzi said it's also good to keep in mind that children and teens are pretty resilient. If the bullying stops and kids can re-establish their social networks, they probably won't have lasting damage from bullying.
Of course, that's not always the case. As Gardner said, "adults need to remember that bullying isn't just a case of 'kids will be kids.'"
Gardner pointed out that "there can be significant and life-threatening consequences when bullying occurs, and children need the support of their parents and school, and they need to intervene as soon as possible."

The closing will not immediately impact Calvin Christian Middle and Calvin Christian High schools, which are operated by the same association.
"It would have been better if it had been a unanimous decision," said Paul Streelman, board president. "Unfortunately, that's not the way these things tend to go.
"This is not a recommendation that anybody on the board wanted to make. But we see closing our elementary school and transitioning students to Grandville Christian School as our best opportunity to preserve the option of a Christian education for families in Wyoming and Grandville."
Fall enrollment at Calvin Christian Elementary, 601 36th St. SW, is 134 kindergarten through sixth-grade students, creating a $215,270 operating deficit.
With enrollment projected at 118 next year, the association's board would have to increase annual tuition from $5,270 to $7,900 to break even, which is beyond the reach of most families, Streelman said.
Enrollment at the school had plunged 58 percent the past two decades, and 21 percent the last two years.
The board chose not to seek wage and benefit concessions from the school's 12 teachers because multiple years of cuts might be necessary.
The board also believed enrollment would drop if it cut transportation. A survey revealed some parents would be adverse to multi-grade classes, Streelman said.
Other West Michigan Christian schools have already consolidated to weather tough economic times which squeeze cash-strapped families out of parochial education.
In 2006, Kelloggsville and Cutlerville Christian schools combined into Legacy Christian School.
This fall, Holland Christian Schools merged its two middle schools at its south Holland campus.
Grand Rapids Christian Schools will consolidate four elementary schools into one new school next year.
Grandville Christian School is the largest feeder school for Calvin Christian Middle and Calvin Christian High schools, 3750 Ivanrest SW, where enrollment has declined but not to the level at which tuition cannot cover fixed costs, Streelman said.
Grandville Christian's currently has 343 students, with its enrollment fairly stable the last seven years.
Grandville Christian has agreed to consider Calvin Christian teachers first if it needs to hire more staff because of increased enrollment, Streelman said.
Calvin Christian Schools Association has agreed to help as many of its students and staff as possible to transfer to Grandville Christian, including providing its former Calvin Christian Elementary students with transportation to Grandville Christian the first year.
Calvin Christian School opened in 1955 as Godwin Christian School.
The association's board has been studying declining enrollment and rising tuition since March 2000, Streelman said.

The main point is that younger generations have to value Christian education as something special, beyond the normal public education system, and worthy of their financial sacrifice. They have to see it as an extended arm of their own family in bringing Christ to their children in all aspects of life. There is a misconception that sending children from a Christian family into public school is somehow sending them to the mission field. Yes, witnessing can and does occur at young ages, but parents cannot expect their children to be little missionaries when their children are still learning to sort out right from wrong, recognize and accept Christian values, and determine how they themselves fit into this world. The reformed perspective tries to instill from an early age the need for Christians to be agents of renewal in a fallen world. It is hard to grasp that concept within the confines of public education. I say this having been a product of the public education system.
Christian education cannot be allowed to go by the wayside. Its principles are Biblical and solid; the only issue is keeping the financing for it affordable.
